Aegon Copa Amsterdam in an international top-class soccer tournament for players under the age of 19. The first edition was held in 2005. In 2010, the decision was made to move the tournament towards the historical field of the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam.
International top class clubs that have participated in the tournament are: Ajax, FC Barcelona, Botafogo FR, Chelsea FC, Real Madrid, Juventus FC and Borussia Dortmund. During the tournament, the public gets the chance to watch future soccer stars play. Every year the tournament is growing and we're constantly trying to expand by adding side activities and create special actions.
To organize an event of this size (15.000 visitors) many interested sponsors are needed. This year, Aegon is attracted to be main sponsor. Over 80 organizations are involved, some of them are shown on the right.
Social media is here to stay, also in Aegon Copa Amsterdam. Since 2011, every year a social media plan is written specifically for this event and a social media team is linked to execute it. The results are better than could be expected. Through Twitter and Facebook, many people get to know Copa and people in 110 countries are reached by spreading match summaries via YouTube. Social Media can mean a lot to you and your event, but it has to be used in the right way. Are you searching for help in implementing social media, or in attracting sponsors? Contact us.
